Our team of experienced building professionals, led by Owner and President Mike Heid, guides you through the entire process - from initial floor plans to finishing decor. Mike grew up in the construction industry and has a craftsman’s eye for details. He understands all the stages your home goes through during construction and will make sure your home fulfills our high standards of quality and value.
Mike loves building and remodeling homes. He has been in the building business since he was 15 years old, and that’s when he discovered a lifelong passion for building homes that reflect the taste, style and dreams of the owners. He founded MK Homes in 1995 to do both custom homebuilding and remodeling.
Mike continually studies to stay on the industry’s cutting edge keeping a higher standard for himself & his people. Mike and his talented team of craftsman build much more than houses. They build a long term relationship with every homeowner by forming a close partnership to bring the homeowners vision to reality. Mike considers his customers his friends and the feeling is mutual.
Mike’s professional affiliations include the National Association of Homebuilders, Texas Association of Builders, Greater Fort Worth Builders Association, NAHB and the Better Business Bureau.
Owner, Vice President, Interior Designer
Kelly is the "K" in MK... Kelly has been part of the team since 1995. She is our interior designer for our spec homes and also helps in the office. Her and Mike have three beautiful children, Lindsay, Brady and Blake. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping, decorating and loving on her two beautiful grandchildren Channing and Lane! Her passion is helping others, being apart of their home building journey and keeping up to date on the latest trends!
Vice President of Operations
Jon Nottingham is our VP of Operations. He graduated from The University of Akron where he played baseball. Since then, he’s gained much experience in helping businesses not only grow but thrive in his previous positions. He is married to his beautiful wife, Shelby. They have an adorable baby girl named Gianna. Jon enjoys going to baseball games, being outdoors, spending time with friends and family and watching movies. He loves what he does because he gets to help our clients dream homes become a reality. His favorite part of his job is meeting with homeowners, forming long lasting relationships and making the process of building your dream home enjoyable!
Director of Construction
Joey Couto is our Director of Construction. He has been in the industry for over 15 years. He has a deep passion for homebuilding which is shown in his performance and quality of work. Family is key to Joey's success because it's an important part of who he is. Joey has two daughters named Mia and Emilia. He also has a beautiful wife named Amanda, who is involved in the homebuilding industry as a Designer. Some core values for Joey are treat people right, always be on time and love what you do so that you can be the best at it.
Darlene Longbrake has worked in finance and accounting for over 35 years and brings that passion with her as our Office Manager. She is a mother to six kids and enjoys being "Mimi" to her three grandchildren. She loves to travel, spend time with her family and friends and being outdoors. Darlene finds it rewarding and exciting to interact with our homeowners and watch their dream homes become a reality.
Shelby Nottingham is our Selections Coordinator and also helps in our office. She graduated college with her Associates Degree in Business Management. She’s married to her best friend, Jonny. They have an adorable baby girl named Gianna and two loving Bernedoodles. They have a big family who they’re very close with and love to spend time with their friends. She enjoys decorating, going on walks with their dogs, cooking, baking, and loves being a mom! She’s a creative person and is passionate about helping others. One of the main reasons she loves her job is because she enjoys giving people design/decor ideas and helping them create a cozy space that they love to come home to.
Lindsay Ayres is our Project Manager for MK Homes and is also a Realtor. She has her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Tarleton State University. Lindsay coordinates, manages our superintendents and leads subcontractors during the home building process. When necessary or requested, Lindsay is also there to give helpful design advice or tips to help make your home beautiful. She’s married to her husband, Daniel and they have a handsome baby boy named Lane. She enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, going to the lake and being a mom! She enjoys working in the building industry because there’s something new happening every day. She also loves being able to share an exciting time with our homeowners and help make their visions become a reality!
German Viera is one of our Project Managers. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors and getting back on the soccer field every once in a while. He has been in and around the construction industry his whole life. Home building is something that he has always wanted to do because seeing something on paper turn into someone's dream is an amazing and rewarding experience.
Patrick Wooten is one of our Project Managers at MK Homes. He's been in different positions throughout the homebuilding industry for over 10 years. Patrick is a native Texan who is a Marine Veteran and served our country from 2006-2010. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University in Fort Worth, Texas. Patrick has two children, Braiden and Lily and a stunning wife Aimee. Baseball
is a big part of Patrick's family life. On weekends, you can often find Patrick and Aimee at sporting events with the kids.
